Rhine Hotel Restaurant  St. Goar-Biebernheim, Germany, Rhine river valley Hill Top opposite the Lorelei rock. Surrounded by 30 Rhine river castles. Middle Rhine valley between Frankfurt, Mainz, Rudesheim, Bingen, Bacharach,   Boppard, Coblence and Cologne.

Biebernheim is to be found high over the Rhine river, above St.Goar (2 km). From Biebernheim you have a wonderful view over the Rhine river valley, the Lorelei, and the town of St.Goar.

Castle Rheinfels presides about 1 km away, halfway on the steep incline between Biebernheim and St.Goar. Get to know the early fortress of Rheinfels with a professional guided tour.

Visit the Doll and Teddy Bear Museum in St. Goar, and take a souvenir photograph of the largest, hanging cuckoo clock in the world! From the viewing point "Loreleyblick" in Biebernheim, you have the feeling that you can reach out and touch the famous Lorelei Rock. If you want to climb up to the top of the Lorelei Rock itself, you cross the river with the ferry (car and foot passengers) from St.Goar to St.Goarshausen. From the Lorelei Rock you have a wonderful view of the Rhine river valley, with St.Goar and St.Goarshausen, the castles Rheinfels, Katz, and Maus, and your holiday village of Biebernheim.

The Open Air Theatre at the top of the Lorelei is well known for its concerts and operas, to suit all tastes. At the tip of the harbour jetty in St.Goarshausen is the bronze statue of the Lorelei to be found.

Further Rhine river ferries are to be found in Boppard, Kaub, and Bingen/Rudesheim. In Koblenz (35 km North, approx. 20 minutes) and Mainz (60 km South, approx. 1 hour) both Rhine river sides are joined by a bridge.

Visit Rudesheim on Rhine river with the Drosselgasse and cable cars to the Niederwald Memorial, or visit the Castle Pfalz in the middle of the Rhine river by Kaub. Bacharach with its romantic beamed houses, the castles Rheinstein and Reichenstein near Bingen, and the Schönburg in Oberwesel. There are 16 castles on the left side of the Rhine river, and 14 castles on the right.

Take a stroll along Boppard’s Promenade or take the chair lift at the end of the town, up to the Vierseenblick. From here you have the impression that the Rhine river divides into four lakes.

Biebernheim is the ideal starting point for you to acquaint yourselves, in different ways, with our beautiful area. We are about 11 km away from the A61 motorway (exit Pfalzfeld) and almost in the middle between Bingen (South 30 km) and Koblenz (North 35 km). In Koblenz the Rhine and Mosel rivers meet at "Deutschen Eck" and the huge statue of Kaiser Wilhem and fortress Ehrenbreitstein are always on guard over the area. When you drive to Koblenz on the lefthand side of the Rhine river, it seems, in Spay, that you are driving straight to the Castle Marksburg, which is actually on the other side of the Rhine river, near Braubach. The Castle Stolzenfels with its yellow New Gothic frontage, and the Castle Lahneck overlook the Rhine river valley at the estuary of the Lahn River, just before Koblenz.

Drive around in your own car, or take a cruise on the Rhine and Mosel rivers. Outings can be made using one of the local coach-firms. For example to Luxemburg and Trier (approx. 1 1/2 hours),Cologne (1 1/2 hours). Cochem and Winningen on the Mosel, can easily be reached in a half day.

There are also many options uing the railway. For example you can combine a boat-trip on the Rhine river one way and return with the train, or vice-versa, thereby enjoying the fantastic Rhineland countryside. On the Schusters Rappen there are many well signposted hikes and walks to enjoy.

With all these many objects of interest it is most definately a good idea to take your holiday in the valley of the Lorelei. Decide yourselves which trips you will make. Enjoy without any hectic our wonderful scenery, and we guarantee this will be a holiday that will always stay in your memory.
